Abandoned Vehicles
An abandoned, inoperable and/or discarded vehicle means
a vehicle that is in a state of disuse, neglect or
abandonment. To report an abandoned vehicle, contact
your local NET office. Please provide the precise
location of the vehicle and the description of vehicle,
including the make, model and color to the NET
representative.
Garbage, trash, or debris
Contact your local NET office to report accumulated
garbage, trash or debris that occurs on private
property. This includes junk auto parts, appliances,
furniture, building and /or landscaping materials, and
tires, liter such as discarded paper, cardboard,
plastics, etc; debris such as tree trimmings and fallen
limbs; or any other items that have been discarded.
Overgrown Lots
Trash and debris which have accumulated on a piece of
property, overgrown vines, underbrush or grass over 12
inches high are all violations of city codes. It is
unlawful for any property owner to allow their property
to become overrun with weeds or to be littered with
debris and junk. If you would like to file a complaint
about the condition of a particular property please
contact your local NET office. Please provide the NET
representative with the address or location of the
property along with the condition creating the problem.
Street Maintenance and Repairs
Please contact your local NET office to report street
maintenance and repair issues. Street maintenance and
repair issues may include:
- Sidewalk repairs
- Potholes
- Pavement markings
- Street signs
- Street construction
- Street cleaning
- Lighting
Unsafe Structures An unsafe structure is
one in which all or part thereof is found to be
dangerous to life, health, property, or the safety of
the public or its occupants because it is damaged,
decayed, dilapidated, structurally unsafe, or of such
faulty construction or unstable foundation that it is
likely to partially or completely collapse. To report a
unsafe structure please contact your local Net office.
Zoning Violations
A zoning violation exists when a propertys’ use has not
been approved by the City of Miami Building or Planning
and Zoning department; or when a property is being used
in violation of the zoning Ordinance. Below is a list of
some zoning violations:
- Construction/Structure without a permit
- Structure too close to property line
- Blowing construction debris
- Business operating without a permit
- Ongoing yard sale
- Operating without a final inspection
- Too many dwellings on property
- Heavy equipment/trucks in a residential area
- Excessive number of cars on property
- Auto Repair
- Junkyard being operated on property
- Animal/livestock violation
- Living in Recreational Vehicle or tents
- Illegal dumping – garbage, tires, miscellaneous
debris
- Expired permit violation
- Permit conditions not being complied with
Residents can report zoning violations to their local
