Commissioner Ken Russell to Speak at Rally

(Miami, FL January 20, 2017) - Commissioner Ken Russell is proud to announce he will be speaking at the South Florida Women's Rally, happening tomorrow Saturday, January 20th at Bayfront Park, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Commissioner Russell will be joining dozens of civic and nonprofit leaders in advocating for social justice and human rights, including women's rights, LGBT rights, immigrant rights and environmental rights. Philanthropist Tracy Wilson Mourning will kick off the joyous event as mistress of ceremonies, while Marleine Bastien of Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami, Inc. (Haitian Women of Miami) will keynote the event. Among other elected officials Commissioner Kristen Rosen Gonzalez of Miami Beach, Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner, and State Representative Daisy J. Baez are also scheduled to speak.

Around 10,000 individuals of all ages, backgrounds, religions, orientations and ethnicities will gather to participate in this non-violent rally to express solidarity and stand against oppression of those who are marginalized.
