Douglas Park Reopens
Environmental Remediation Complete

(Miami, FL June 28, 2017) - Douglas Park is once again open for City of Miami residents to enjoy!

Commissioner Ken Russell came into office after working with the city to successfully remediate Merrie Christmas Park. Now Douglas Park also located in District 2 has been remediated.

An extensive year-long project to remove contaminated soil, install an impervious liner and replace the excavated soil with clean fill material is finished. District 2 Commissioner Ken Russell invites you to the official reopening of Douglas Park on Thursday, June 29th at 10 a.m. He'll talk about improvements made to date and future plans for this popular park.

"Rehabilitating green spaces and creating new opportunities for families to enjoy in Miami is a pleasure. I'll continue to add and improve parks throughout Miami," says Commissioner Ken Russell.
