City, County and State Leaders Join Forces to Receive Citizens' Input on Street Improvements

(Miami, FL June 28, 2010)-The Miami Shenandoah Neighborhood Association and City of Miami NET will be holding a community forum to address citizens' concerns over the future of SW 17 Avenue. City of Miami Commissioners Francis Suarez and Frank Carollo will be joined by County Commissioner Bruno Barreiro and State Representative Julio Robaina to hear any input citizens may have in regards to possible improvements and beautification of the SW 17th Avenue corridor. All residents are encouraged to attend and actively participate.

Long Awaited Railroad Cleanup Finally Completed

((Miami, FL June 24, 2010)-The Flagami NET and the office of District 4 Commissioner Francis Suarez announce the completion of the cleanup along the railroad tracks off 69th Avenue and West Flagler Street. Thanks to the collaboration and support of our friendly neighbor, Florida East Coast Railway, the thick under brush and overgrown grass used by the homeless as a means of shelter and as a haven for criminal activity has been removed. In its place No trespassing signs and increased visibility for law enforcement patrolling the area.

Florida Housing Help

Mayor Tomas Regalado and Commissioner Francis Suarez will be partnering with the Department of Financial Services to educate and assist Families facing foreclosure. The free workshop will include opportunities to meet with HUD-certified housing counselors, local housing authorities, legal assistance, credit counseling services and many other foreclosure programs.
