Manuel Orosa was promoted to Miami Chief of Police by City Manager Johnny Martinez on December 14, 2011, to be effective Monday, December 19. Manuel Orosa is a 31-year veteran of the Miami Police Department. During his career, he held command positions in all divisions within the Miami Police Department. Chief Orosa brings to the job many years of experience, a deep knowledge of this community and the expressed desire to serve it to the best of his abilities.
