On Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 11am the inauguration ceremony of the construction of a replica of El Malecon in Havana took place. Mayor Regalado along with several local business owners witnessed the groundbreaking of a legendary monument in Cuban culture. This replica of the famous seawall will overlook Biscayne Bay.

On Tuesday, October 11th 2011, Mercado De Dinero USA, in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, held a reception for all the Hispanic Consul Generals in Miami hosted by Ethel PalacÃ, director of Mercado De Dinero USA at City of Miami City Hall’s 2nd floor terrace overlooking beautiful Biscayne Bay.

On Thursday, October 13th 2011, the City of Miami Commission and Mayor Regalado honored Audrey Michelle Gair, a graduate of New World School of the Arts high school for her artwork titled Mi Cultura, an acrylic-on-canvas self portrait in the style of Mexican artist, Freda Kahlo de Rivera.

This past 24th of July, the City of Miami celebrated it’s 115th birthday. The 10 hour celebration which lasted from 10am till 8pm, featured a variety musicians such as Lime, Rudy Gil, Hansel y Raul and Carlos Oliva. Food and a beautiful towering cupcake-birthday cake were also available for guests.
